The article deals with the management and strategy of public lending library, its significance in regional development, spreading of culture, informations, education and knowledge. The stages of development of the Regional Public Library Tábor, its organizational structure, new organizational elements and their evaluation are also mentioned. Development of the Regional Public Library Tábor is weighed up in compliance with the model of strategic management of Thompson and Stricklad. The main strategic projects for the Public Lending Library Tabor are suggested in the article.
